Here Iā€™m going to focus on one of the main and most important, in fact game-changing, physical benefits - the full workout and extension of the spine.

Four movements of the spine:

In a traditional Hatha class we ensure you move the spine every which way;

1 - Forward bending

2 - Backward bending

3 - Side bending (Lateral)

4 - Twisting

As well as completing these four essential movements for optimum health of your spine, in a complete class you will also focus a lot on spinal extension.

Lengthening the spine and creating lots of beautiful space in between the vertebrae and discs is a perfect antidote to sitting for long periods with the spine compressed.
