About

You might think I was always flexible and totally zen? But honestly, I struggled when I started yoga, finding my body stiff as a plank of wood!

So my mission statement is simple: Yoga for All Abilities.

It’s not about what how far your body goes, or listening to the mind… it’s about the heart.

We are often disconnected from our bodies, our inner voice and the world around us. I want to give people a taste of reconnection in every yoga class.

Through this reconnecting I love to see students find new optimism for life, and follow their heart to greater happiness.

The Beginning

My first class was with an incredible teacher Flo in a sunlit loft in Covent Garden in 2011. I remember lying under the beams during final relaxation and floating on a cloud. Not believing I had managed to do some of the poses I had.

I was in the class to get to know colleagues, de-stress and work on my fitness.

So either I had something to prove or wanted to improve myself. But in yoga I found I had nothing to prove. It became a place of peace and retreat for me

I came out of class stronger and lighter, with more patience and confidence.

Bonds formed with classmates, as we challenged ourselves in a supportive environment.

As my body grew stronger and I regained lost flexibility, so my mind did too, I gained more focus and entertained new possibilities.

The Middle

Three years later I travelled to Goa, to take an Intensive Yoga Teacher Training with Yoga Prema - this was one of the best decisions I ever made!

This course followed traditional yoga and I learnt from heartfelt, gifted and highly experienced teachers Lila Conway and Elahn Keshava. How to describe that month? Well… getting up at 5.30am, vegetarian food, 4 hours of classes per day… it turns out, a path to bliss :)

After a few detours, I finally began to work as a teacher in 2017 and met my forever teacher Sonia Sumar that same year, when doing her Part 1 training in Yoga For All Abilities.

The Now

Since meeting and training with Sonia Sumar the last 7 years, there are no doubts in me! I wanted to spread the knowledge and techniques that have helped me so much.

In particular, I wanted to teach people with additional and complex needs. Always the most genuine, lovely people I have ever met :)

Really we all have some unique needs, whether it’s physical, energetic, mental or emotional. In facing my own needs, I’ve learnt through experience how to teach people to work with all these layers.

The Future

Physical and mental issues due to modern life are all too common, and in an effort to be able to holistically evaluate every student, I am beginning a 2-year Professional Diploma in Yoga Therapy at The Minded Institute from May.

Conditions covered will include: immunological, anxiety, respiratory, Parkinson’s Disease, cancer, depression, reproductive, PTSD, chronic pain, eating disorders, diabetes, dementia, bone disorders, chronic fatigue, addictions, ADHD, OCD, stroke, hypermobility, kidney disorders, and grief.
